
“The symposium of Spray Polyurea waterproofing technology of Bridge in High Speed Railway” was held in Beijing Da Fang Hotel on April 26, 2009. As an important technology symposium before the start of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway construction, the meeting caused great concern to polyurea industry and warterproofing industry. The focus of the symposium was that facing the enormous markets of the polyurea application in roadbed protection and polyureas in construction of Passenger Dedicated Railway in the future, as china waterproofing industry, how to solve the problems occurred in the application and explore the solution to the problems.
“The symposium of Spray Polyurea waterproofing technology of Bridge in High Speed Railway” was chaired by Ms. Yan Miao, the General-Secretary of China Building Waterproofing Association. The president of China Building Waterproofing Association, Prof. Dongqing Zhu gave welcome speech

During the symposium, Prof. Weibo Huang of Qingdao Technological University showed how to distinguish pure polyurea, hybrid, and polyureathane quickly, accurately and conveniently by the method of vehicle technology. This attracted significant attention from all the attendees. At present, this method has applied for the China patent (Patent Number: ZL200910020530.1) and been written into the “Temporary Technological Guideline for spraying polyurea as the waterproofing layer on the bridge beams of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway”. It will be the important method to test polyurea protection application in jobsites quickly. This method greatly reduced the difficulties, cost and time for distinguishing the quality of polyureas in jobsites compared with the ways of atomic absorption, fourier transform infrared, amino analysis and hydroxy analysis, etc and was highly commended by the leading people, experts and representatives attending the symposium. As the important Intellectual Property of China polyurea industry, the patented technology will apply the international patent protection to broaden the influence and popularity of China polyurea industry in the world polyurea industry.
