Polyurea is a new environment-friendly material newly developed abroad in the past dozens of years. The excellent properties of polyurea and construction technologies such as quick spray-coating and on-spot solidification are integrated into the polyurea technology to provide unparalleled advantages in engineering application. The polyurea technology has been successfully applied in the construction of large infrastructures such as the stadiums of Beijing Olympics, Beijing-Tianjin High-speed Railway, and the under-construction Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, and has won high praises from the material industry and construction industry of many countries around the world. Based on their excellent properties, polyurea materials can completely or partly replace traditional polyurethane, polyurethane/polyurea, epoxy resin, fiber glass, and heavy-duty anti-corrosion materials. In just dozens of years, they have been quickly spread to many fields such as waterproofing, corrosion protection, wear resistance, shock resistance, and radiation protection around China and all over the world.
       With co-effects made by all circles of the society, the establishment of China Polyurea Industry Association Preparatory Committee (PDA-China) has been approved by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association and PDA and PDA-China will hold an inaugural meeting during this grand meeting of polyurea. Polyurea Development Association of China (PDA-China) is founded after the establishment of PDA in 2000 and PDA-EUROPE in 2007. It is an internationally influential trade organization founded by the Chinese people with their fruitful efforts in the field of polyurea technology and with high praises from the international society.
       As the prelude of this meeting, "2009 China (Beijing) International Spray Polyurea Technology and Application Exhibition and the 1st Polyurea Summit ” (the Two Polyurea Conferences for short hereinafter) has already been a great success. It played an important role in the establishing of PDA-China and the full demonstration of the development level of China’s polyurea industry, won high praises from all circles in the country and from the international society, and created favorable conditions for us to prepare for “2010 Inaugural Meeting of China Polyurea Industry Association Preparatory Committee (PDA-CHINA)” and “2010 The 1st PDA-China Annual Conference & Expo”. The Two Polyurea Meetings of 2009 is not only a celebration for the 10-year birthday of China’s polyurea technology, but also a magnificent fair in the history of the polyurea technology of the world. It is a show stage for the Chinese polyurea industry, a forum for us to sum up the past experience and lessons on, and an oath-taking conference before we undertake the polyurea protection works of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway Project.
          While the polyurea protection works of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway Project are under heated construction, we converge here in Beijing to enjoy the precious rest and to make mid-term comments on this huge polyurea project of the world, exchange our ideas and experience, and sum up our successes and failures. This will undoubtedly provide guidance and reference for the subsequent construction of polyurea works. We hope that all of us can make full use of this rare opportunity, share our past magnificent achievements in the future, and discuss the strategies for the future development of polyurea. Let’s work close together to turn the polyurea protection project of the railway bed of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway into a “Model Project”, an “Exemplary Project”, and an “Enduring Project” which withstands the test of science, time, and working conditions.
        Many splendid achievements have been achieved in more than a decade of development of polyurea technology in China, especially in such fields as sports stadiums, high-speed railways, and water conservation works. It is no wonder that specialists from the United States exclaimed that: Polyurea was born in the United States but developed in China. However, its development in other fields of application is rather backward, such as: roof greening, concrete protection of marine works, landfill treatment, and tunnels & road bridges. In order that Chinas polyurea technology develops towards a better direction and catches up with and surpasses the advanced level in the world, it is planned by " China Polyurea Industry Association Preparatory Committee (CPDA-CHINA), Architectural Society of China Waterproof Technical Committee, China Architecture Industry Association Material Sub-Committee, BeiJing Urban Construction Science Technology Promoting Association, www.polyurea.cn, Beijing Global Union Exhibition Co., Ltd, Beijing Kaiqi Times Exhibition Service Center” to jointly hold “2010 Inaugural Meeting of China Polyurea Industry Association Preparatory Committee (PDA-CHINA)” and “2010 The 1st PDA-China Annual Conference & Expo” in China International Trade Center from March 31, 2010 to April 2, 2010. We sincerely hope that enterprises and relevant institutions in the polyurea industry will take an active part in this meeting and join our efforts to unfold the bright future of the polyurea technology of China.
